Haarlem Hofjes |
| Generally "hofjes" comprise small houses built around an inner courtyard or garden. They were intended for the accommodation of older women living alone. Most "hofjes" were funded from the estates of private individuals. Haarlem has a total of 19 "hofjes", including the Hofje van Loo dated 1489. | |
