Around Haarlem |
| The street below is called Grote Heiligland
(Great Holy Land). During his lifetime, Frans Hals lived here and this
is where the Frans Hals Museum is today.
In the 17th century, it served as a home for elderly men and later as an orphanage. It became a museum in 1913 and has a wonderful collection of works by Dutch painters. |
